Comic: MARE’S NEST #1
WARNING: Comic contains adult themes.
I wrote this when I first moved to London in ’07, I was working as a runner which I barely could live off of, so on weekends with my free time because I was constantly budgeting, I’d spend the whole weekend indoors in my house share in Hackney, playing the Nintendo gamecube or sitting quietly at my desk like a weirdo.
I was fortunate enough to have friends living close by which I can’t bare to think what life would have been like at that moment without them.
Any way, as a product of those weekends. I made this comic book. ‘Mare’s Nest’ is a term which means “fools gold”, a false find. I don’t know what the stories are about exactly, you could say that I was “in a dark place at the time” and the first story in particular is based on a nightmare I had, and it was just like, “admit it, youre fucked”
Anxiety is a vicious bastard.
